new puppy
I am so excited because we are finally getting a puppy on Saturday. I just really cannot wait! I am also 19 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good lately except for waking up every 2 minutes to switch sides while I'm sleeping. I guess I am not supposed to lay on my back and my doctor prefers me to sleep on my left side. Apparently the baby gets more nutrients when I sleep on the left. My next doc appt. is on February 11th, they will do an ultrasound to make sure Jackson has all of his little fingers, toes, etc. I will update soon with picture of new puppy.

IT'S A BOY!!!!
I have been wanting to come here since Thursday when I found out but I've just been so busy. We are very excited that Jackson Thomas Hodge continues to grow each day and I have felt some movement but not a lot...I'm hoping he starts kickin around in there. It's just reassuring. We took Savannah to the gender ID ultrasound with us and she was very excited. The week prior to the ultrasound, she was indicating that she wanted a little brother. I think it is because she will always want to be mommy and daddy's only girl. This is good, and she will adjust to the baby better I think. I am still worried about how I am going to handle all of this but I've always believed that I would have another child and God has decided to bless us with another one of his children and we are so grateful. Plus, Will is more than elated to be having a son.

17 weeks tomorrow
Things that I have noticed that started happening this week
1. definite movement in the tummy..we went and watched Avatar in 3D and the bass was super loud and the baby was either hating it or liking it because he/she was doing major gymnastics in my belly.
2. the onset of heartburn begins...just noticed that today after I had some blueberry pomegranit juice. Ouchy.
3. I am getting pretty darn near not being able to squeeze into my pre-pregnancy bottoms, definitely the jeans.
4. I have started really thinking about my daily life with a newborn and a 7 year old. Wondering how I am going to be a good mommy to both. I shouldn't worry, my great-grandmother had 16 children and my grandmother had 8 or 9.
I am very excited to find out the sex of the baby on Thursday and I pray that the baby cooperates and shows us what he/she is. I will definitely keep you posted!

Bassinet
Maternity Tour Tonight
Super excited because in a few hours I will see where I will be in labor and deliver, hopefully no C-Section. I hope the rooms are nice. With Savannah I delivered at the Women's Hospital of Texas and I just remember being very happy with the room but the nurses drove me nuts and woke me up every couple of hours when I had just been in labor for 17 hours. Ugghhh...I wanted to hurt somebody. I really don't know how women have home births though. I mean, what if something goes wrong or you start hemoraging or what if the baby is not breathing? I would hate to put my own child in jepoardy because I wanna do something different. There is a reason why there has been major improvements in the medical industry so that women can have a safer delivery. Anyway, I will jump off of my soap box for now...one more exciting tid bit...we will be finding out the sex of the baby (hopefully if the baby cooperates) next Thursday the 14th. I will keep ya'll in the loop :)
